A controlled vocabulary classifying the present posture of an organization's relationship — whether the relation is currently in force (Active), formally ended or dormant (Inactive), or temporarily on hold pending resolution (Suspended). Used on gc:RelationshipStateManifestation as a current-state record (gc:CurrentStateTerm); the underlying gc:OrganizationStructureAssociation / gc:OrganizationMembership / similar association instances carry the provenance history.

Code Label Definition
REL-ACT Active The relationship is currently in force — the parties are actively cooperating, the structural link is recognized, the membership is recorded, the partnership is operative. The default status for a healthy relationship surfaced through a manifestation snapshot.
REL-INA Inactive The relationship has formally ended or has become dormant — a membership terminated, a structural link dissolved, a partnership wound down. Distinct from Suspended (which implies expected resumption): Inactive denotes a relationship that is no longer in force at the manifestation moment, though the historical association record is preserved through gc:manifestationDerivedFrom.
REL-SUS Suspended The relationship is temporarily on hold — pending an investigation, awaiting renewal, paused during a leadership transition, or otherwise interrupted with the expectation of resumption. Distinct from Inactive (which implies a formal end): Suspended denotes interruption rather than termination.
