A qualitative three-band confidence rating (Low / Medium / High) carried on an attestation or reachedness-assessment result. Captures the informant's own stated confidence in the value, orthogonal to verification-level (which records evidence-source strength). A V4-verified partner reading can still be DataConfidenceLow when the partner is honestly flagging that the underlying observation is uncertain (e.g., a population estimate in a closed-access context).

Code Label Definition
DC-HIG High The informant has strong confidence — the value rests on direct observation, recent fieldwork, or well-corroborated reporting. Suitable for action-oriented decisions without further qualification.
DC-LOW Low The informant is uncertain — the value is a best-effort estimate under significant noise (closed-access region, limited observation window, sparse field input). Display layers should surface this prominently; rollup logic should weight accordingly.
DC-MED Medium The informant has moderate confidence — the value is grounded in observation but carries known uncertainties (out-of-date reference data, inferred sub-populations, modest sample). The default band for most field-sourced readings.
